Collarts is proud to announce three incredible scholarship opportunities in Europe that will be available to eligible students in 2017, 2018 and beyond.
International Summer Camp, Songwriter Week, and Band and Business Camp will see Collarts students and teachers travel to Europe to collaborate with our partner institution in Germany, Popakademie Baden-Württemberg (University Of Popular Music And Music Business).
For those of you debating whether to spend 2017 studying or traveling Europe, here’s your chance to do both!
International Summer Camp
This special experience sees up to 80 talented students from all over the world come together to rehearse, exchange ideas and create music with their international peers. A selection of highly qualified international experts coach the students across the camp, with workshops in songwriting, vocal or instrumental lessons, performance training and much more.
Students network and collaborate throughout the International Summer Camp, which concludes with a public concert on the Popakademie stage.
Selected Collarts students will attend the International Summer Camp at Popakadamie in Hammelburg, Germany, from July 21-28th 2017.
The songwriter week occurs three times a year and is a project run by the Popakademie in partnership with EMI Music Publishing. Across the week, Collarts students will write songs in small teams and be mentored by esteemed international songwriters. The songs are recorded and produced, with extra vocalists and instrumentalists enrolled in the Popakademie degree programs contributing as required.
The songs written across the week are then pitched to A&R representatives from different record labels.
Band and Business Camp
The International Band and Business Camp (IBBC) takes place each February at the Popakademie, Germany. The camp includes students from over 12 universities across Europe, United States and now Australia.
Selected Collarts students will take part in a music industry business simulation that runs 24hrs a day for 3 days, where every 2hrs is equivalent to a month passing in real life. Students’ abilities to cooperate, innovate, collaborate and manage stress while navigating the challenges of the simulated world results in an enriching and memorable educational experience like no other.
Further information on eligibility, costs, application process will be announced ahead of applications opening in 2017.
