We’re excited to share that students Erika Fedele and Paul Dyason, along with recent alumnus Jack Wieseler, have been selected to fly to London for The Nando’s Music Exchange (MX). Aiming to nurture local music students by giving them access to global talent, the three have been hand-picked to travel to the UK amongst three other students from Australia, South Africa, and Canada for a global exchange.
During the MX, students will develop their knowledge about the industry, given access to artists and music industry professionals that will excel and engage their craft. Artists who have been involved in the MX in previous years include Ella Eyre (UK), Dope Saint Jude (South Africa), Urthboy (Australia, 2017 first year), Stormzy (UK), and Example (UK), with the 2018 line-up staying on a need-to-know basis.
Kicking off the MX, the students—along with three other recipients—will travel to the UK to experience the iconic London live music venue, The Roundhouse in Camden; heading off in early June for four days. While on exchange, the students are reported be involved in a collaborative two-day workshop, where they work with and learn from musicians making waves in their respective music scenes.
“I want to network,” Erika says, “that’s what I want to do and learn as much as I can. I’ll be in hustler mode: taking in as much as I can.” It’s an incredibly exciting opportunity for Erika, Paul and Jack to get hands-on overseas in a space built for nurturing creatives—and we can’t wait to see what they get up to!
