If you dream of a career as an Interactive Media Manager, Videographer, Online Publisher, Media Producer, Social Media Manager, Content Marketer or Digital Project Manager, this course is for you.

The Bachelor of Arts (Content Creation) is perfect for students who want to be content designers and creators for the media, arts, music, lm, fashion and other creative industries. You will be taught and mentored by industry experts who are currently working as content producers, online media producers, media project managers and digital executives.

You will undertake fundamental units in content strategy, web design, videography, graphic design, photography and copywriting, alongside subjects in brand strategy and user experience. Students will work with real clients in a studio environment to develop industry relationships and their own portfolio of work.

Students will graduate with a well-rounded understanding of the content creation and marketing industries in Australia and overseas.

Diploma

The Diploma of Arts (Content Creation) will teach students fundamental skills in web design, videography, graphic design, photography and copywriting, alongside subjects in brand strategy and user experience. Students will work with real clients in a studio environment to develop industry relationships and their own portfolio of work, and will be mentored by industry experts who are currently working as content producers, online media producers, media project managers and digital executives. The Diploma can be completed in two trimesters of full-time study.

Throughout the Diploma, you will:

  • Gain an understanding of digital marketing and project management;
  • Learn to produce professional-quality video and photographic content;
  • Learn how to write and edit professional online content;

Bachelor Degree

The Bachelor of Arts (Content Creation) will provide students with a knowledge and understanding of content creation, and develop the practical skills required to gain employment as content designers and creators. The Bachelor degree can be completed in six trimesters (2 years) of full-time study.

Throughout the degree, you will:

  • Create professional-quality digital content for a variety of platforms;
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of digital marketing and project management;
  • Develop an understanding of social media strategy and content distribution;
  • Learn practical skills in software applications Photoshop and InDesign;
  • Develop your own portfolio of video and photographic content;
  • Learn how to write and edit professional online content;
  • Work with real clients in a studio environment and develop industry relationships;
  • Undertake a 60-hour work placement.

  • Admissions Requirements


    ALL APPLICANTS: Applicants must undertake a 30 minute interview. During the interview we will ask you questions about your knowledge and experience within your field of interest as well as discuss your course choice with you. 

    Diploma – Applicants are required to successfully complete VCAL, VCE, IB or state/international year 12 equivalent. If students have not completed the year 12 requirements, they must be at least 20 years of age. The diploma can be used as a pathway into the Bachelor degree. There is no ATAR minimum or subject requirements.

    Bachelor – Applicants are required to successfully complete VCE, IB or state/international year 12 equivalent. VCAL students are not eligible for the Bachelor until they have successfully completed the diploma. If students have not completed the year 12 requirements, they must be at least 20 years of age.     Non-Year 12 applicants may apply directly on the website, and a Future Student Coordinator will be in touch to arrange an interview.

    Year 12 applicants MUST apply through VTAC. VTAC opens in August each year. Place the appropriate Collarts course into one of your preferences and a Future Student Coordinator will be in touch to arrange an interview.
