One of the great things about our sessional staff is their constant work in the industry. For Dallas Frasca—a music teacher at Collarts and rock legend in her own right—creating accessible and independent avenues for rock music is at the forefront of her ideas. Taking the concept of the humble tour bus, Frasca is creating a world-first music festival set to take a handful of lucky punters on the road this March.
Travelling across three days, A Hitch To The Sticks Music Festival will be a curated experience focusing on the unique dynamic of band-tour-meets-VIP, encouraging punters to attend music events, gigs, and festivals, rocking along the way. Personally guided by Frasca, fellow passengers will set off towards North-East Victoria on Friday 16 March and commence their tour to six secret locations and four public events across Violet Town, Lima, Myrrhee, Tatong, Thoona, Wangaratta, and Moyhu.
A triumph in experiencing Victoria’s vibrant music culture, performers involved so far include the conductor of the Melbourne Ska Orchestra and all-round reggae luminary Nicky Bomba, and Beechworth-born singer-songwriter, Liv Cartledge. Dallas and the Hitch To The Sticks team are soon to share more details including full lineup, which makes it the perfect time to learn more about Dallas’ project here or view the teaser trailer below.
