Dr. Tim Moss

Dean | Chief Academic Officer

As Dean of Collarts, Dr. Tim provides leadership and strategic direction, and supports staff to develop their expertise in innovative teaching practice. Tim is an award-winning teacher and researcher with almost 25 years of experience in higher education, and has held leadership roles at a number of institutions, including Swinburne University of Technology and the University of Tasmania.

Within these roles, Tim has balanced opportunities to engage in course development and delivery within his own discipline of teacher education, with roles focused on faculty development across all disciplines.

At Torrens University, Tim was a key member of the team that developed the Voices of Autism Massive Open Online Course, which was completed by over 13,000 individuals from 88 countries. As a researcher, Tim is known for his work in student engagement (including an invited contribution to The Student Engagement Handbook), and innovative digital teaching practices.

His PhD used arts-based research techniques to explore drama teachers’ identities and practice, and his recent work in this field incorporates his practice as a writer and photographer to raise questions about teacher and student identity construction, particularly in online environments.
