Collarts music performance lecturer and award-winning musician and songwriter Dallas Frasca has reached an incredible milestone—her song Stand on my shoulders has been named a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition, standing out among 16,000+ entries! An impressive recognition for an artist who continues to inspire through her music, resilience and dedication to her craft.

Dallas shared some words about the milestone:

"While I don’t see music as a competition, for me, it’s always been about creating from the heart and hoping the songs find the right ears."

"I also just turned 48 years young, and next month, I’m hitting the road across Australia with ZZ Top & George Thorogood—a reminder that persistence pays off when you keep showing up and believing. Grateful for the journey. The best is yet to come."

Beyond this achievement, Dallas has had a massive year. Between teaching at Collarts, she played over 50 shows across every state in Australia—completely independently—and even scored a #2 ARIA charting record! She also performed alongside singing teacher and legend Mezz Coleman and Collarts alum Johnny Costin, who both sang backing vocals on her new album

These achievements are just another step in an already impressive music career. Congratulations, Dallas—we can’t wait to see what’s next!
