Can you tell us a bit about what you're currently working on?

I have so many exciting projects lined up for 2025, and the planning process is in full swing! Before diving into what I’m currently working on, I’ll share a bit about my music journey in 2024. After the successful release of my debut single, Let You In, I recorded and released my second single, Holding Back, which performed even better! This momentum led me back into the studio to record my third single, On Repeat, which was just released on November 1st. Now, I’m fully focused on mapping out my first EP for 2025, titled Confessional. I’ve planned out 2025 with the goal of releasing 6-8 songs, spread across two EPs and one single.

What have been some standout highlights or memorable experiences during your time at Collarts?

Collarts was a really fun part of my life! I loved finding myself on stage and in the studio, it really was such an insightful time in my music career.

I did a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance and auditioned with 2 songs I had written whilst living abroad at the time. I think overall, my most memorable experience was my audition! I just remember playing 2 original songs for the first time EVER in front of someone (Annie, we love Annie!) and feeling so nervous. But, I got offered a position with Collarts on the spot and felt so incredibly lucky! Collarts was the first place I shared original songs and

it was the first time in my life I felt supported and comfortable to share my music, be totally vulnerable and find me.

I loved the friends I’d made there at the time and absolutely loved gigging and being in the heart of the music scene in Melbourne.

How has studying Music Performance at Collarts shaped or refined your skills and style?

It definitely made me understand my sound, my direction, my goals and my dreams with my music and my music career in the long run. Learning how to use software like Logic Pro got me extremely comfortable with understanding how to produce my own music, and for years, I did.

Now I work with a producer in Malta (where I now live), and let him work his magic. I write from the heart and pour my soul into every song and every project and the reason why I started working with a producer was so that I could focus on the writing and let someone who I trust and who hears the vision, take the wheel on the mixing and mastering. We work collaboratively together and I am super involved in the process, that’s important to me. Collarts also gave me some incredible connections in the Australian music industry, who I still keep in touch with now even though I live in Europe, which I am incredibly grateful for.

What advice would you give to someone considering studying Music Performance at Collarts?

Be open to everything and say YES!

Even if you don’t feel ready or you feel like your music isn’t ready to share, it is.

Collarts fosters such a supportive community where sharing your voice and expressing yourself is encouraged. Remember where your passion comes from and always stay true to yourself. You have your own unique sound so don’t compare yourself to others, be you always.

Being an artist is all about embracing your sound and your story. That’s incredibly special so own it and stand by it.

How has your perspective on the music industry evolved since you began your studies?

I think my understanding of the industry has deepened significantly now that I’m fully immersed in it, releasing my own music and hustling to get it heard by as many people as possible around the world. There’s an immense amount of work that goes into releasing a single, EP, or album—from writing the song to recording and producing it, submitting it for global streaming, securing licenses and copyright, creating PR packs, generating content, promoting on social media, and setting up campaigns for playlisting, and more. It’s never-ending! I do it all myself, so I've learned the importance of having a structured plan in place before every release.

It’s an incredibly saturated industry, and from the professionals I’ve connected with in Australia, Europe, and the UK, I've learned that you must always release music that feels authentic to you. Never try to mold yourself to create music that doesn’t feel true. Now, I feel totally grounded as a musician and fully back my music. The three songs I’ve released this year are just a taste of what I have planned for 2025 and beyond, and I couldn’t be more excited for the world to hear more of my music and the stories I have yet to tell.

Music is all about connections, and I love building an audience who can relate to my lyrics, get lost in my sound, and reach out to share their experience after listening to a song of mine. It’s incredibly rewarding to know people are connecting with and finding comfort in my music—that’s something truly special, and I couldn’t have predicted it until I started releasing my own tracks.
