What is VTAC?

The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) handles the application and offer process for all year 12 high school students looking to take their next step in study in Victoria. All school leavers must apply via VTAC, but those who have already completed high school can choose to apply directly on our website, or via VTAC if they wish.

Step-by-step guide

Create a VTAC account

Before you do anything, you’ll first need to create an account on the VTAC website. Timely applications open on 29 July 2024 and close on 30 September 2024, so be sure to create your account during that time to avoid late fees from VTAC.

Select your courses

Under the ‘Course Application’ section, you can choose which courses and institutions you want. You’re able to select up to 8 courses, with 1 being your most preferred and 8 being your least preferred.

Make Collarts your 1st preference

Throughout the application period, you will have an opportunity to change your preferences before the main offer round (23 December). Log in to your VTAC account, open your course preference list and add, delete or re-order your course preferences.

Get results- YOUR ATAR DOESN'T DEFINE YOU.

On the 12 December 2024 at 7am, your VCE results, and ATAR is released. This will be your final chance to change your preferences before the first-round offer. Remember, you only get one offer from the highest course on your preference list, so make sure your preferences reflect where you most want to study. The last day to change your preferences and place Collarts 1st is the 14 December.

Getting your full offer and offer acceptance on the day

On the 23 December 2024 at 10am, you can log into your VTAC account for the official first-round offers! One of our Future Student Advisors will reach out from 2pm on the day to congratulate you and walk you through the next steps.

On the same day you receive your official offer, you will be able to accept it and complete your acceptance form online. Just make sure you have your supporting documents on hand (USI and Tax File Number) to finalise your enrolment. The sooner you do it, the sooner you secure your spot!
