Eligibility requirements
At Collarts, we're not just looking for students; we're on the lookout for the future of comedy. To see if you fit the bill, we’ll hold a quick audition involving a short performance from original or pre-selected material, along with a comedic written piece such as a short monologue, sketch, jokes or other original comedic material.
We'll also hold an informal admissions interview where you can tell us about your experience, background, and passion for comedy. There are no cookie-cutter moulds to fit into at Collarts. We're all about celebrating diversity, individuality, and the kaleidoscope of creativity that makes each applicant unique.
English language requirements
Our English requirement is an overall IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent (with no single band score below 6.0) for all the courses, except Entertainment Journalism, where students are required to have an overall IELTS score of 6.5 (with no single band score below 6.0).
Applicants may also provide the following as evidence of their English proficiency:
- Results of English subjects in a range of countries’ secondary school certificate, A Level or the International Baccalaureate. Please contact international@collarts.edu.au if you have any questions.
- Successful completion of an English course at any of our pathway providers.
Admission requirements
Collarts is a place where performance, passion, and industry knowledge collide. We're not just looking for students; we're on the lookout for future playwrights and directors. To see if you are one of them, you'll undergo an admissions interview, during which you’ll discuss your experiences, background, and reasons why this field is calling your name.
In addition to the above, you’ll need to supply the following documentation to support your application:
- A certified copy of transcripts and high school certificate (translated if necessary).
- English test results or alternative evidence of English proficiency.
- A certified copy of your passport.
- A current visa (if applicable).

How to apply
- Apply online via the Apply Now button on the page. Soon afterwards, our International Team will contact you.
- Organise and submit the requested documentation for your application, ensuring all details are correct.
- Book and attend an interview and/or audition, where you will meet our friendly International Team.
- If your application is successful, Collarts will issue a Letter of Offer.
- To accept your offer, you must return a signed Student Agreement to receive an invoice.
- Once your payment is received, Collarts will issue an Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE) as evidence of your enrolment.
- Once you have your eCoE you must purchase your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
- Once you have all the documents, apply for your student visa.
- Congratulations! You're ready to start studying at Collarts.
