This Sunday 27th September, the biggest event of summer is taking place at Burnley Park in Richmond. That’s right, the Dogapalooza Music Festival!

Dogapalooza Music Festival is the first ever music festival where dogs can enjoy the fun of live music with their human companions. In other words, it’s a dog-friendly community music festival.

What makes this all the more special is that it’s a charity event. Money raised from ticket sales will be donated to Melbourne-based animal advocacy organisations: Stafford Rescue Victoria, Paws of Love Animal Rescue and Melbourne Animal Rescue.

The line up for the Melbourne event includes DJ duo Cocoa Noire, folk-pop twins Amista, Melbourne-based reggae-folk singer Tash Sultana and indie-folk singer-songwriter Harrison Storm. As well as these amazing live acts, owners and canines can enjoy market stalls and a vegetarian barbecue, with BYO options for drinks and picnics.

The event itself is being run and managed by an eager group of Collarts Entertainment Management students. One of the event managers, Taryn Walton had this to say,

“We’ve had a great response to Dogapalooza with so much media support, amazing ticket sales and a great lineup of musicians. While it’s been hectic organising a large-scale event, it’s also been great a great experience. Punters are in for a great day of sunshine, music and a great vibe – and it’s all for a such a worthy cause.”

So come along to Dogapalooza this Sunday September 27 at Burnley Park, Richmond, from 11.30am–5pm. Tickets are available through and are priced at $31.65 for adults, $18.40 for students and concession cardholders and $13.30 for children over 12 (with all proceeds donated to charities).
