Music Acts to Catch at Melbourne Music Week

Melbourne Music Week is back, taking place on 13–20th of November.

MMW is an eight-day program that celebrates and supports the city’s exciting independent music scene across various creative industries, such as music, film, art & design. Melbourne can expect awesome concerts in unconventional spaces, artist collaborations, industry events, workshops, film screens and more.

With a wide range of talented music acts performing throughout the week it was difficult to choose, but here are our top 5 music acts to catch:

1: PIERCE BROTHERS
The popular Melbourne folk duo will be playing on the Tuesday 17 November from 7pm–9pm on the Yarra Tram. $10 of every ticket sold will be generously donated to Beyond Blue.

2: LANKS
Melbourne based singer, songwriter and producer will be playing at the KRIMPER CAFÉ’ on Sunday 15th November alongside Melbourne Folk singer, Anna Cordell from 11am–1pm.

3: GYPSY & THE CAT
This indie/dream pop duo will play tunes from their latest album, The Late Blue, on Friday 13th November at the former Royal Women’s Hospital with Melbourne RnB/pop group The Harpoons and Melbourne band Dorsal Fins .The magic starts from 7pm and goes into the early hours.

4:  CC:DISCO
Commonly known as “Australia’s First Lady of Disco”, this club DJ and radio announcer will share her eclectic signature disco, boogie and house after lunch at former Royal Women’s Hospital on Sunday 15th November from 12pm–3pm.

5: ELLA HOOPER
Former lead singer of Aria-Award-Winning band Killing Heidi, will rock out a solo set on Friday 20th November at Amphlett Lane, supported by Brooke Penrose, Elizabeth Mitchell, Giuliano Ferla, Jack Colwell, Lade Macrae, Jane Tyrrell, Jenni Powell, Jess Rebeiro, Kira Puru, Olympia and Tommy Spender . Starting from 8.20pm till 10pm.
