Adam Rudegeair

Piano & Keys Teacher

Adam is a pianist and composer, originally from a jazz background, who has an interest in exploring the synthesis of jazz, funk, and more experimental music styles.

Adam has studied jazz piano with Steve and Bob Sedergreen, as well as Mark Soskin (Sonny Rollins), Laurence Hobgood (Kurt Elling) and Andy Milne (5 Elements, Dapp Theory). In 2003 Adam also received an advanced diploma of Music Performance from NMIT.

Adam’s major projects include his jazz trio, and the cinematic future-soul project Neon Bogart and the Minneapolis-style, jazz-fusion group Lake Minnetonka. Adam’s music also saw him tour across the UK, Europe and the USA in 2011.

For the past five years Adam has presented the jazz show Black Wax every Monday on Melbourne’s PBS 106.7FM. He has also worked as the musical director of Etta James tribute show, Heart of a Woman, and was musical director for A Soul Séance.

In 2014 he performed Game of Themes at the Melbourne Fringe, a one-hour solo piano concert of science fiction and fantasy TV and movie themes.
