Joshua Jones

Bass Guitar & Master Class Teacher

Josh Jones works with our Music Performance students, teaching Bass Guitar and Instrumental Master Class.

From a young age Josh knew all he wanted to do was play music. As a child there was always music around the house, whether it was his dad playing keyboard or his mum playing her favourite Carol King record.

After two years of trumpet in primary school Josh made the change to bass and never looked back. He went on to complete his degree in Music Performance at Box Hill Tafe and built himself as an established musician recording and touring nationally/internationally with Dan Sultan and Gossling. His musical adventures have seen him record in Nashville with Grammy-award-winning producer Jacquire King as well as share the stage alongside Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Missy Higgins and also members of the Jools Holland Band.

In 2009 Josh recorded on Dan Sultan’s second studio album, Get Out While You Can, which won an ARIA Award in 2010 for Best Blues and Roots Record and also won two Deadly and AIR Awards. Since then Josh has toured America, the United Kingdom and China as well as played at some of Australia’s biggest music festivals such as Big Day Out, Splendor in the Grass, Falls Festival and Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival to name a few.

Joshua is endorsed by Aguilar Amplification and his latest work can be heard on Blackbird by Dan Sultan and Harvest of Gold by Gossling.
