Travis Demsey

Music Teacher

Travis Demsey has been a professional drummer for over 20 years and is best known for for his drumming in The Living End.

Arguably one of the biggest bands in Australia in the last 20 years, The Living End have cemented themselves as one of Australia’s truly great iconic rock acts. The experiences of being a member of The Living End have equipped Travis with a broad range of skills.

Travis has shared tours and stages with Green Day, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Blink 182, AC DC, The Offspring, SoundGarden, Iggy Pop and hundreds more, giving him firsthand knowledge of how the touring world works.

He has also worked with some of the world’s biggest producers as a drummer and drum technician. Producers include Andy Wallace ( Nirvana, Guns and Roses, Rage Against The Machine ), Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Arcade Fire, Lou Reed), David Kahne (Paul McCartney, Lana Del Ray, Kelly Clarkson), Jerry Finn (Green Day, Blink 182, Morrissey) totalling over 100 Australian and international releases.

Travis is a regular guest performer at Australasia’s biggest drumming festival The Ultimate Drummer’s Weekend and is a contributing writer for Drumscene, which is Australia’s best known drum magazine.

For the past eight years Travis has used his drumming skills to run motivational workshops in the corporate sector (AFL Players Association , Cricket Victoria , Minter Ellison Legal Group), the community wellbeing sector (Whitelion, Berry St, Headspace) the education sector, visiting over 100 high schools. He has also worked heavily with Indigenous communities.
