What to expect at Laneway Festival 2016

Laneway Festival is back again for yet another exciting music festival.
Here at Collarts we are very proud to be working with Laneway Festival yet again. The past Laneway events were an amazing experience for our students and this year should be even better!
Through a mix of different artists playing this year here are my top 7 must see acts;

Banoffee
Banoffee or as her friends call her (Martha Brown) is a R n b- Pop singer from Melbourne Australia. She has been in the music scene for 5 years now showing us her creative hand in the fields of fashion, design, dance and music.

Fidlar
Fidlar is a four-piece band from Los Angeles. Members: Brandon, Max, Zac, Elvis have a pure, garage-punk sound. Fidlar has spent the past five years touring and will certainly give the show to remember at next years Laneway Festival.

Goldlink
Goldlink is a rapper from DC. He has only picked up a mic for the first time three years ago and in that short space between then and now he has worked with well known producer Kaytranada , toured with SBTRKT and has made a song with Chet Faker . Did I mention that he is only 21?

Purity Ring
Purity Ring is a future pop duo from Edmonton, Canada. 2015 has been their year. They just released their second album ‘Another Eternity’ and have been selling out shows worldwide.

Metz
Metz is another band from Canada with a sludge-punk sound… whatever that means. The boys have been touring for 2 years now and released their second album in May of this year.

Tobias Jesso Jr
Tobias Jesso Jr is coming to Australia for the first time playing us his tunes from debut Goon. He has collaborated with the likes of Danielle Haim from the trio group HAIM, Grammy-winning record producer Ariel Rechtshaid, former Girls bassist JR White and the drummer of Black Keys Patrick Carney. Tobias got hand picked to write a song for Adeles new album ‘ 25’.

Flume
Our very own, Flume has truly got a lot to make us proud of. With a long list of hit tracks, successful international tours and quite a few Aria awards it does not seem Flume will be dying down any time soon. He will be bringing a brand new show to the Laneway stage with a preview of material from his hugely- anticipated second LP that is set to be released in 2016.
